Lewis & Clark Trail

Every year, thousands of people follow the Lewis & Clark trail, trying to embrace the journey that Lewis & Clark traveled over 200 years ago. Did you know they passed right through the Chamberlain area and YOU can take a peek at the same trail they traveled at our Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center? Hop aboard the 55 foot Keelboat and experience breath- taking views from the stern. Re-live their journey with stations that explain the Corps traveling adventures through present day South Dakota!

 The center is located on Interstate 90 between Exits 263 and 265. Summer hours are 8am-6pm. Phone: (605)734-4562. Free admission, free parking. Handicap accessible.

Akta Lakota Museum and Cultural Center

Come experience Native American art and culture at the Museum & Cultural Center. The Gift Shop and Collector's Gallery feature a large selection of specialty items related to Native American art, history, and culture. The museum honors the history, pride, art, and culture of the Lakota Sioux people of South Dakota.

Located on the campus of St. Joseph's Indian School on North Main Street, Chamberlain, SD. Phone: (605)734-3452 or (800)798-3452. Summer hours: 8am-6pm Mon-Sat, 9am-5pm Sunday. Free admission, free parking. Handicap accessible. Group tours available- advanced reservations are appreciated.

South Dakota Hall of Fame

Located just off of Exit 263, the SD Hall of Fame honors South Dakotans and their contributions to the development and heritage of the great state of South Dakota.

4th of July Celebration

Come join us for a big 4th of July celebration on the Missouri River! Spend a day bathing in the sun, tubing, and boating. But when the sun goes down, be prepared for a beautiful fireworks show over the Bluffs of the Missouri River!
